Next Generation Universal Extender

$24.99

A "semen extender" is used in horse breeding to significantly increase the lifespan of collected sperm, allowing for the semen to be stored and transported for artificial insemination (AI) over longer periods, essentially enabling more mares to be bred with the same stallion even if they are geographically separated, and maximizing the genetic potential of a valuable stallion by utilizing his semen more efficiently. The dual sugar and nonfat dry milk component of this semen extender is recommended for all A.I. purposes. Semen may be cooled for transport. It may also be used the same day on the farm with or without antibiotics. Kit contains the component parts which, when mixed together, provide 150 ml of extender.

Preservation:
The extender provides a nutrient-rich environment that protects sperm cells from damage during storage and transport, allowing them to remain viable for longer periods.
Volume increase:
By diluting the semen with an extender, the volume is increased, allowing for multiple inseminations with a single collection.
Antibiotics:
Extenders often contain antibiotics to help prevent bacterial growth in the semen sample.
